Ever since I was a little boy, I’ve loved anything and everything cars. It was a complete obsession and at one point I had magazine subscriptions to every automotive journal and read them over and over. When I was 12, I learned that in order for me to buy a car I would need to earn the money myself. I immediately started a paper route with the Modesto Bee and for the next 2 years, rain or shine, 365 days a year I delivered newspapers on my BMX bike. Handing over $1500 for a 1971 Datsun 510 was one of the most rewarding days of my life. The entire experience taught me the value of a dollar—not to mention the freedom that money provides.

During my freshman year of college, I decided to invest some money I had saved into the stock market. This being late 1999/early 2000 you can imagine what happened next. The wave crashed and I lost 50% of the money in a matter of weeks. It was at that point that I realized I really needed to learn about money and I was fascinated about the psychology of making financial decisions. So I spent the next 2-3 years absorbing information from every source possible to understand not only the role of money in our lives but also what emotional factors drive us when it comes to money.

With that foundation of knowledge and continued academic education, I decided to start my own financial planning firm and help others grow their wealth and spend money efficiently so that they could also have a rich and fulfilling life.
